KOCHI: V-Guard Industries Limited, a leading electrical solutions provider, is planning to achieve a turnover of Rs.410 crore for 2009-10. Talking to mediapersons here, Kochouseph Chittilappilly, founder and managing director of the group, said this year’s turnover was around Rs.315 crore by logging a 14 per cent growth. He viewed the growth commendable because of the recessionary times. Though the prices of cables had come down because of the decline in input costs, the turnover increased from Rs.289 crore the previous year to Rs.315 crore for 2008-09, he said. This, he claimed, was possible because of the strong network of dealership and distribution points in the interior parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The cable major has recently set up a low-tension cable manufacturing unit in Uttaranchal. When the new units in Coimbatore and Uttaranchal go full stream, it could give additional employment to about 250 personnel, he said. “With an investment of Rs.45 crore in these two units, the company plans to strengthen its operations in this segment. The two new units at full capacity are collectively expected to generate revenue of Rs.200 crore a year.”
