BJP is not neglecting loyal workers, says Sadananda Gowda Karwar: Terrorism and price rise are a result of “wrong policies” adopted by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government, State unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party D.V. Sadananda Gowda has said. The Congress even opposed the State Government’s programme aimed at creating awareness among students against terrorism, he told presspersons at Ankola on Saturday. Congress candidate for the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency Margaret Alva was removed from all party posts for making an allegation against her own party. She was rejected not only by people during the last elections but also by her party leaders in Karnataka, Mr. Gowda said. He urged the Election Commission to file a criminal case against Congress leader Kagodu Timmappa for allegedly making provocative statements. Mr. Gowda charged that Congress leaders were indulging in appeasement of minority community people only to get their votes. They were indulging in Hindu bashing, he alleged. Referring to the alleged provocative statement of BJP candidate for the constituency Ananth Kumar Hegde, he said every candidate had the right to decide whether he wants votes of a particular group. So, nothing wrong was done by Mr. Hegde, he said. Mr. Gowda said that the BJP was not neglecting loyal workers. District unit president of the party Vinod Prabhu, Fisheries Minister Anand Asnotikar and Mr. Hegde were present.
