BJP youth wing protests Varun’s arrest

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: To protest against the invocation of the National Security Act on the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Lok Sabha from Pilibhit, Varun Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar here on Saturday.

The protesters, led by BJYM president Amit Thakkar and Delhi State BJYM chief Anuj Sharma, described the imposition of NSA as a conspiracy of the Central Government in New Delhi and the Mayawati Government in Uttar Pradesh.

Mr. Thakkar warned that if Varun Gandhi was not released soon, thousands of youth workers from Delhi would go to Etah, where he is now lodged in a jail.

Mr. Sharma said the youth of Delhi were “with Varun against the injustice committed by the autocratic regimes.”
