Cases against Renukacharya

He made provocative statements at a press conference

DAVANGERE: Criminal cases have been booked against chairman of the Hutti Gold Mines and Honnali MLA M.P. Renukacharya for making provocative statements at a press conference here on Sunday.

Manjunath Prasad, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, told The Hindu that the sector magistrate of the area where the Press Club was situated, had filed a complaint with the KTJ Nagar police against Mr. Renukacharya for making a statement which was likely to promote hatred among people of different communities.

He further said cases were also booked against Mr. Renukacharya under provisions of the Representation of People’s Act and under the Indian Penal Code.
