Need for government engineering college

The long-felt need to have a government engineering college at Nellore is to be looked into by the State government. Since there are no government colleges in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, the Government must take steps to start an engineering college in the district, besides introducing engineering courses at Vikrama Simhapuri University. These steps will help meritorious students from poor financial background, who cannot afford to pay lakhs of rupees as fees, to pursue the technical course. I request the higher officials concerned to look into the matter and protect the interest of the students.

Problem of water depletion

The much-publicised pro-agriculturist policy of the State government reached anti-climax with the depletion of water in Godavari canals. Recently, I have travelled along Nidadavole-Narsapur canal, which is filled with water hyacinth. Contrary to the ground realities, the officials of the revenue and irrigation departments are giving assurances that there would be no damage to crops. The problem of water depletion was witnessed way back in 1959-60 and the then government alerted the local officials to take steps to protect crop even in tail-end fields.

Boost to law graduates

A fresh graduate of law come to a stage of earning on his own only when he puts at least five years of experience in the profession. Most of the fresh law graduates are focussing on securing employment, so that they can feed their families. But, in Prakasam district, the district court is making it a practice to appoint freshers and junior advocates as advocate commissioners. It provided an encouragement to law graduates. The system also helps the clients to articulate the deposition in a free manner.
