ICAI chief quizzes Satyam auditors

HYDERABAD: The president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Uttam Prakash Agarwal on Sunday interrogated in jail the former Chief Financial Officer of Satyam Computers Srinivas Vadlamani and the Price Waterhouse auditors S. Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas Talluri on court orders.

Mr. Agarwal is the head of a high power committee constituted by ICAI to go into the entire gamut of fraud related to auditing in Satyam Computers. The disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Vadlamani and the Price Waterhouse auditors as members of the institute would be subject matter of an independent inquiry.

Mr. Agarwal visited the jail accompanied by Shantilal Daga, Central Council Member, G. Ranganathan, Deputy Secretary of ICAI.
