CHENNAI: The hop-on hop-off tour of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation and Tour-of-Chennai package of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation will receive a good patronage in the upcoming months, Tourism and Culture Secretary V. Irai Anbu said. Speaking to presspersons after a meeting with members of the Nehru Park Walkers’ Association on Saturday, he said that the tour was yet to gain momentum among city residents but expressed a hope that summer holidays would see its patronage increasing. “Despite a lot of promotional measures, the awareness about the tour package is yet to reach many people. We plan to popularise in these two months by distributing pamphlets and meeting public,” he said. On the tariff of the tour package, Mr. Irai Anbu said it was priced right and came with several additional features. “The package also provide guide facilities for the passengers. The luxury coaches will be operated every hour from Chennai to Mahabalipuram and 25 per cent discount as inaugural offer is first-of-its-kind in a nominally priced tour package.” In his interaction with the walkers in the park, he explained about the key features of the tour package. M. Rajaram, Managing Director, TTDC was also present.
