Church leaders seek change in IIT-JEE exam date

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Council of Churches Commission on Public Affairs strongly objected the Council of Directors of IITs’ decision to conduct IIT-JEE exam on Easter Sunday, April 12.

“Easter, the resurrection day of Jesus Christ is a very important event in the worldwide church calendar and Christians in India,” said a press release. This decision would affect the prospects of a large number of students, it said. The commission demanded that the Ministry of HRD change the date of exam.
