Dream Cochin has 151 guest rooms, including 50 luxury suites. KOCHI: The Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister T. K. A. Nair inaugurated Dream Cochin, U.S.-based businessman Vikram Chatwal’s five-star deluxe hotel, at Elamkulam here on Sunday evening. Speaking on the occasion, he said that guests to the State find Kerala’s culture and the popular ethnic cuisine very appealing. “I was impressed when Mr. Chatwal mooted the idea of beginning a hotel project in the State. Now, I am touched by his positive response and hope that the quality of the facilities and staff would make the hotel one of the best in the country. May his dream come true.” In a lighter vein, he said, “I hope God’s own Country continues to have God’s own People.” SealordMr Chatwal, who is the president of Vikram Chatwal Hotels, thanked Mr. Nair for suggesting that Kerala would be the best State to begin a hotel project. He spoke of how till a few decades ago, when he was working in the Southern Naval Command here, Kochi had only one star hotel – Sealord. “As a continuation of the Dream brand, it was vital to stay in tune with the concept born in New York, while at the same time blend in the mysterious, exotic and relaxed personality that Kerala has.” Dream Cochin has 151 guest rooms, including 50 luxury suites. Icy hues of blue light wash the clean white rooms with a calming tone.
