Sreesanth getting ready for new role

KOCHI: He was a champion dancer a few years ago. Now, after being laid low by a back problem, fast bowler S. Sreesanth gets a chance to put on his dancing shoes all over again.

And it’s all for the ensuing Indian Premier League in South Africa.

“I’ll be travelling with the Kings XI Punjab team. But my new role, as a fans mentor, means I’ll be mixing with the fans, interacting with them and keeping the mood alive. Of course, there’ll be a lot of dancing,” said Sreesanth here on Monday.

“I’ll be going to Delhi for a shoot on April 13 and probably for some training for my new role in South Africa,” said Sreesanth, a former winner of the Boogie Woogie dancing competition in a leading TV channel

The aggressive youngster, who was one of the top bowlers in the last IPL, is on the road to recovery and hopes to play in the last week of the Twenty20 event.

“God-willing, hopefully, I think I’ll be fit by then. But even if I don’t make it, I won’t be disappointed, I’m young, I have time. And we’ll have the Champions League after that.” — Principal Correspondent
