Aditya finishes sixth

CHENNAI: Aditya Patel enjoyed a solid start to his Formula BMW Pacific season, finishing sixth in Round Two at Sepang, Malaysia, on Sunday, after qualifying 11th.

On Saturday, Aditya had driven his Atlantic Racing Team car to ninth place in Round One. This was a creditable performance from the Indian, considering that he had gone into the weekend with no pre-season practice or testing.

At the end of the first two rounds, Aditya is seventh in the drivers’ standings, with five points, 23 behind leader Gary Thompson of Team E-Rain. Thompson’s teammate Akhil Khushlani, the other Indian in the Formula BMW Pacific, is 10th with three points, courtesy an eighth-place finish in Round One.
