Eve-teaser bites policewoman’s hand, held

CHENNAI: A woman police constable who tried to apprehend a youth who misbehaved with a girl on Kamarajar Salai here on Sunday evening was injured when the suspect bit her hand.

According to police sources, Chitra, a constable attached to the Tamil Nadu Special Police, was on VVIP route bandobust duty when she saw Sasikumar (23) of Ayothikuppam misbehaving with a 21-year-old girl. When she tried to intervene, he bit her left hand causing a bleeding injury and escaped.

Chitra raised an alarm drawing the attention of other policemen in the vicinity who chased the accused and arrested him. Sasikumar was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody.
