Nagercoil: A special police team led by Vadaserry Inspector Jamal, arrested two persons on Tuesday on the charge of abducting two women and relieving their jewels. According to the Superintendent of Police, Kabil Kumar Saratkar, Mohan Raj and Ajay of Kuzavilai near Colachel abducted Suji of the same area last month, took her to a hill area near Panakudi in Tirunelveli district. They attempted to strangle her, removed her jewels, took away her cell-phone and fled the scene when she fainted. However Suji managed to reach Panakudi police station where she lodged a complaint. Later the case was transferred to Vadaserry police station and during interrogation, Suji told the police that the duo were from Kuzavilai near Colachel. In the meantime the police arrested the duo at Railway Station Road near Pallivilai. They confessed that they committed such crimes as a routine business. Similarly Angel Thilaka of Paduvakkarai near Colachel was also abducted, taken to the same place and killed her before relieving the jewels. They killed her by tightening a cloth in the neck. The case remained to be that of ‘missing.’ The police came to know that they had planned to abduct more women, said the superintendent of police. He appreciated the team for detecting the case within the record period and handed over rewards to them.
