HASSAN: Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda owns property — both movable and immovable — valued at Rs. 32,55,987 as per the declaration made before Returning Officer while he filed his nomination papers here on Wednesday. Mr. Deve Gowda’s wife, Chennamma, owns property worth Rs. 1,65,70,503. Mr. Deve Gowda owes Rs. 64,99,000. The following are the details: Mr. Deve Gowda has Rs. 21,603 in cash, while Ms. Chennamma has Rs. 2,66,677.40. Mr. Deve Gowda has Rs. 5,30,969.62 in deposits in banks and financial institutions, while Ms. Chennamma has Rs. 3,30,538.70. The former Prime Minister has bonds, debentures and shares in companies worth Rs. 1,007 and his wife has bonds, debentures and shares in companies worth Rs. 2,264. They have an car of 1974 model with a book value of Rs. 15,500 and also another car of 2004 valued at Rs. 4,79,614. Both Mr. Deve Gowda and Ms. Chennamma have jewellery worth Rs. 1,25,000 each. Their other assets are valued at Rs. 17,55,987 and Rs. 21,64,503.40, respectively. In addition, Mr. Deve Gowda owns agriculture property worth Rs. 12 lakh in Holenarsipur and a house in Paduvalahippe valued at Rs. 3 lakh. Ms. Chennamma owns a building in Bangalore with a market value of Rs. 80 lakh, a tractor and accessories Rs. 5 lakh, an old house in Paduvalahippe Rs. 6.06 lakh and commercial shops in Paduvalahippe Rs. 32 lakh.
