An emotional appeal

Political parties and their candidates miss no opportunity to appeal to voters. Anitha Kumaraswamy, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s daughter-in-law and JD(S) MLA from Madhugiri, is no exception. Hailing from Kolar district, she is making an emotional appeal to the electorate to ensure the victory of JD(S) candidates from the Kolar (SC) and Chikballapur Constituencies. Ms. Kumaraswamy’s native taluk Chintamani, falls under Kolar. It is now part of Chikballapur district carved out of Kolar. “I have promised my husband [H.D. Kumaraswamy] that I will ensure victory in these constituencies,” she says.
