Total voters put at 34.17 lakhs

Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi has put the total number of voters in the district at 34,17,155 (16,87,798 males and 17,29,357 females) and service voters at 847 (556 males and 291 females) who will cast their votes through postal ballots.

Kothapeta Assembly constituency has the highest number of voters at 2,08,796 (1,02,753 males and 1,06,043 females) and Rampachodavaram (ST) the lowest of 1,39,143 (66,810 males and 72,333 females).

Rajahmundry City has the second highest number of voters at 2,02,423 (99,477 males and 1,02,946 females). Kothapeta and Rajahmundry city are the only constituencies having more than two lakh voters. Mummidivaram has the third highest number of voters: 1,92,121 (95,936 males and 96,185).

Mr. Dwivedi has also said 9,862 electronic voting machines were arranged against the requirement of 9,700. There were 1,252 EVMs available in the district, 8,300 were brought from West Bengal and 1,100 from Orissa.
