Goa, Karnataka police to work together

PANAJI: Apart from a joint campaign to curb illicit liquor trade on both sides of the border areas, the Goa and Karnataka police have joined hands for a broader mutual cooperation to keep tabs on anti-social elements.
In view of the parliamentary elections, Goa would set up parallel police check-posts on the border and the existing check-posts would be strengthened further by the Karnataka police.
“The initiative is at the behest of the Election Commission, but it would continue on a regular basis,” a top Goa police official, who was in Belgaum on Monday, told The Hindu on conditions of anonymity here on Thursday.
