Two couples tie the knot under club project

225 such marriages performed so far by Inner Wheel Club

TIRUCHI: The Inner Wheel Club of Tiruchi solemnised the wedding of two couples as part of the club’s mass wedding project for poor here on Thursday.

The marriages took place in the presence of Prema Nandakumar, former Senate member of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi. Apart from the mangala sutras, the newly wed couples, S.Jacqueline and A.Prabhu and C.Leela and Senthil Kumar, were given utensils and other items.

The club’s president Vathsala Sridharan, project chairman Valliammai Muthuraman, secretary Meenakshi Vellayan and others felicitated the newly married couples.

A press release from the Club said the project is being implemented for the 24th consecutive year and so far 225 couples have been married through the initiative. The marriages were being conducted with contributions from its members.
