Jamaat to support Congress

Hyderabad: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has declared its support to the Congress in 37 Parliamentary and 267 Assembly constituencies. In the remaining constituencies, it has decided to support other candidates. This follows the Congress party’s commitment to the people’s manifesto earlier announced by the Jamaat besides ability of the candidates to fight fascist forces in the country, their personal character and adherence to ethical values. The Jamaat has also decided to support Communist parties’ candidates in places where they can win with its support.
