Kasaragod: The residence of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader and former Minister Cherkalam Abdulla was on Friday attacked by some unidentified men. The glass panes of the house located at Cherkalam, near here, and a parked car were damaged in the attack. The attack is believed to have been carried out between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., as the car was parked here last night after the IUML district president returned home from campaigning, the police said. Second incidentMr. Abdulla’s house and the car came under similar attack on March 14, however, the attackers could not be identified. The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), of which IUML is a constituent, has sought police protection for Mr. Abdulla. — PTI
