Kochi: The Kerala Microsoft Users Group (K-MUG), in association with Microsoft, will train faculty and information technology staff of MG University, Kottayam, on April 25. T aking forward its faculty training programme in various universities in the State, the goal of this workshop to be held at Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering, Kadayiruppu, Kolenchery, will be to familiarise the university faculty and IT staff with the latest technology and tools in use in the field. The group had earlier held a similar workshop in the Calicut University. Called Faculty Development Workshop, the one-day training programme will help the university faculty acquire knowledge in key technologies. Besides, they will also be facilitated to have access to essential software at no cost. Some of the topics covered in the workshop are .NET (3.5) as currently used by the industry, ADO.NET and data connectivity with Windows applications, ASP.NET – building latest generation web applications, mobile application development and SQL Server 2005. Microsoft technology experts and Microsoft most valuable professionals (MVPs) will handle the sessions. K-MUG will distribute books, CDs and certificates at the end of the workshop that is held for free. For registration, log on to http://k-mug.org.
