BJP regressive, says Congress

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Congress, on Friday, said that a political party was as young as its policies and progressive ideology.

Dismissing the reported charge of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi that the Congress was a “spent force and ageing party,” the party spokesperson Ashwani Kumar said that it was the Congress who gave the youngest Prime Minister in the form of Rajiv Gandhi.

“And today our general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi has become the source of inspiration for the youth in the country,” Mr. Kumar told reporters here.

He said the policies and programmes of the Congress were designed to fulfil the aspirations of the youth and take the country ahead on the path of progress and rapid development.

“On this count, the Bharatiya Janata Party is not only an ancient party but it is also regressive in its ideology,” he claimed.
