MANGALORE: Senior politician and writer B.M. Idinabba died at a private hospital in the early hours of Saturday. He was 89. He is survived by four daughters and two sons. Mr. Idinabba, on whom the State Government had conferred the Suvarna Karnataka Ekikarana Award in 2006, had won the Ullal (now called Mangalore after delimitation) Assembly seat in 1989 and 1985 on Congress ticket. He had served as the Chairman of Kannada Development Authority. He had also pressurised the Railway Recruitment Board to recruit more Kannadigas. — Special Correspondent
