KOCHI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted approval for the Dhanalakshmi Bank to open, during the calendar year 2009, 66 branches and 200 off-site ATMs across the country. This is in addition to the five regional offices in the State and two central processing centres in Thrissur and Hyderabad. With this, the number of outlets of the bank will rise to 725 from the existing 279, according to a press release issued here recently. Bank managing director and chief executive Mr. Amitabh Chaturvedi, said the RBI approval signified a major step in the bank’s efforts to become a pan-India entity.
