Bhopal: Blood relationship is at stake in ten out of 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh where polls will be held on April 23 and April 30. Of these, three seats have members affiliated to different political parties campaigning against each other while in the rest seven, the blood relations are at stake. The three seats where the candidates are seeing opposition from their own family members, affiliated to different political parties, are Rajgarh, Sidhi and Bhopal while in the rest, blood relatives are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the victory of their family members. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh is opposing his younger brother, Laxman Singh, who is the BJP candidate from Rajgarh seat. Similarly, Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh and his son Ajay Singh have announced that they would campaign for the Congress candidate from Sidhi and not for his sister Veena Singh, who is contesting polls as an independent candidate. In Bhopal, BSP’s Ashok Singh was witnessing resistance from his brother and BJP MLA Dhurvnarayan Singh. However, the story is different in seven seats — Dhar, Khandwa, Bhopal, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Mandla and Tikamgarh — where the kins were working hard to ensure the victory of their relatives. Madhya Pradesh Minister Ranjana Baghel is electioneering for her husband and BJP candidate from Dhar seat, Mukam Singh Kirade, while former Madhya Pradesh deputy Chief Minister Subhash Yadav was working hard to make his son, the Congress nominee from Khandwa Arun Yadav enter Parliament. Similarly, the BJP candidate from Bhopal and former Chief Minister Kailash Joshi’s son and BJP MLA Deepak was seeking support for his father, while the BJP’s Ratlam candidate Dilip Singh Bhuria’s daughter and former MLA Nirmala Bhuria was canvassing for her father. BJP candidate from Mandsaur Laxminarayan Pandey’s son and former MLA Rajendra was busy seeking support for his father while BJP nominee from Mandla and former Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste’s brother and BJP MLA Rampyare Kulaste was electioneering for his elder brother. In Tikamgarh, former Madhya Pradesh Minister Gaurishanker Shejwar was electioneering for his relative and BJP candidate from Tikamgarh Virendra Singh Khatik. — PTI
