Manning dead

CHENNAI: The 99-year-old Col. E.P. Manning, considered one of the oldest sailors in the country, passed away here on Monday, according to a press release from the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association.

In June last year, Col. Manning had visited the TNSA in connection with a movie shoot on sailing in Chennai.

Col. Manning was a former British Army personnel and stayed back in India after Independence. He became a member of TNSA at the time of its inception seven years ago.
