Door-to-door check to find persons with 2 voter cards

Nagercoil: Collector Rajendara Kumar conducted a door-to-door verification in Kaliyakkavilai, Kozivilai, Palukal and the surrounding areas on Tamil Nadu and Kerala border to ensure the deletion of names of those who possessed two voter identity cards.

As Kerala was going to polls on April 16, officials had already been geared up to identify persons having two voter cards.

Those who cast their votes in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu and if caught they would have to undergo one-year imprisonment or pay fine amount or both.

Collector’s appeal

The Collector had already appealed to those who have two voter identity cards should surrender one of them.

Padmanabhapuram RDO Devadoss and Vilavancode Tahsildar Hyder Ali accompanied the Collector.
