Every vote counts for Advani: Venkaiah

SANGAREDDY: BJP senior leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said that the vote polled by the voters to the BJP counts for L.K. Advani and would help him to become the prime minister.

Addressing a public meeting held here, Mr. Naidu said that the vote that goes to BJP candidates was not only to local candidates but also for Advani. “Nation needs a determined leader who can protect the interest of the nation. Only Advani can do that,” he said.

Referring to the disintegration of United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress party became alone with leaders like Laloo Prasad Yadav, Mulayam Singh and Ramvilas Paswan parting their ways. “Both at the Centre and State the Congress party become alone and no one is sailing with it. All the old friends left it as it has cheated tehm. Only BJP was able to retain its friends,” he said adding that the Congress party lost its right to continue in the power. Recalling the development that took place during the rule of NDA, the BJP leader said that people could assess the difference between the ruling of the NDA and UPA before casting their vote.

“We made air connectivity, road connectivity, rail connectivity and tele-connectivity, which is now being used by every one. This was what the development that took place during the NDA,” he said. On the bomb blasts that took place in Hyderabad and elsewhere, Mr. Naidu asked why the government had failed to nab the culprits in Hyderabad blast cases. “We will hang Afzal Guru and implement the judgement of the Supreme Court after coming to power, which could not be done by the UPA government in the past five years,” he said. The BJP leader also mentioned about the promises made in the election manifesto like ‘Ladli Lakshmi’ for girl child and waiving of loans to farmers.
