Held for making spurious liquor

NEW DELHI: A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly manufacturing and supplying spurious liquor in the Capital leading to the death of more than two dozen people in the past one month. Six persons have been arrested so far in this connection.

A Delhi Police Crime Branch team arrested Mukesh, a resident of Raghubir Nagar, near Gagan Cinema in Nand Nagari on Wednesday. He was found to be involved in more than 60 cases under the Excise Act. During interrogation, Mukesh purportedly told the police about the entire network of bootleggers in the Capital.

The first death due to spurious liquor this year was reported in Dabri on March 17.
