Chief Minister slams TDP, TRS

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: Notwithstanding the opposition and the media outcry against his controversial remarks on Telengana and the Rayalaseema irrigation projects, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy continues to stick to his guns.

YSR who held a road show on Sunday at Madanapalle, B. Kothakota and other places in Chittoor district has on the other hand stepped-up his tirade on TRS leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for ‘contriving’ to float the Grand Alliance in league with the CPI (M) and the CPI to deceive the people of Rayalaseema and disrupt all its irrigation projects.

To drive home his point Reddy sought to painstakingly build up a case against the two leaders and questioned the propriety of N. Chandrababu Naidu striking a deal with Chandrasekhar Rao whose ‘opposition’ to the non-Telengana areas and its people is well-known.

Cautions voters

He charged that the ‘Maha Kutami’ (Grand Alliance) was against the development of the Rayalaseema region and cited in this context TRS leader’s rhetoric in the past against Polavaram, Pulichinthala and Pothireddipadu irrigation schemes designed to augment the irrigation facilities in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. Breathing fire at Naidu, YSR questioned as such how he could join hands with Chandrasekhar Rao and warned the voters at the meeting that a vote to the GA would doom the fate of Telugu Ganga and Rayalaseema irrigation projects.

Turning his attention to Chiranjeevi at the end, YSR termed PR party as a house of confused persons, which had no clarity on any issueHe echoed similar sentiments at his press conference at Madanapalle.
