Congress fears rigging by TDP in Kandukur
HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Sunday demanded deployment of bandobust on the polling day in Kandukur Assembly constituency, in Prakasam district as it apprehends rigging by TDP supporters.
In representation to Chief Electoral Officer I. V. Subba Rao, M. A. Khan, MP, and K. Janardhan Reddy, MLC, ‘requested’ him to call for the previous election reports and police records relating to the constituency and direct all officials concerned to arrange heavy bandobust. They wanted continuous videography in all polling booths. The representation recalled that in the 2004 Assembly elections several incidents had taken place in the constituency. As many as 30,000 bogus votes were weeded out following a demand by the Congress, the representation said.
