Arrest Owaisi: Election Watch

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Election Watch on Sunday demanded the immediate arrest of Asaduddin Owaisi, Majlis candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, for his ‘threat’ to Director-General of Police A. K. Mohanty.

K. J. Rao, adviser to the organisation, in a statement here, expressed distress over the State government’s ‘casual’ attitude in taking action against the MIM leader.

Mr. Rao objected to his behaviour, saying Mr. Owaisi should have appreciated both Mr. Mohanty and Chief Electoral Officer I. V. Subba Rao.

Mr. Rao favoured action against the outgoing Lok Sabha member for his ‘intimidating’ behaviour towards high-ranking officials. For this the government should take action against him, he stated.
