dated April 21, 1959: Control of leprosy

The President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, addressing the annual general meeting of the Indian Leprosy Association in New Delhi on April 20, appealed to doctors and social workers in the country to come forward in ever-increasing numbers to work for the control of leprosy. Dr. Prasad said, “I attach the highest importance to your work not only because we need the kind of work you do, but also because it creates in us that spirit of service which is absolutely necessary for the uplift of the country.”
