VISAKHAPATNAM: As advocated by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, human beings should behave like humans and shun violence and corruption, said Prof. M. Veerabhadrayya of Sri Sathya Sai University, Puttaparthi here on Sunday.

Delivering a spiritual discourse at the 23rd anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai City Samithi “Prema Sadan” at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar School premises, he said Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s philosophy was love, peace and service. As long as dharma prevails, Vedas would last and would be secure, he added. “Selfless service leads to the divinity and everybody should put in their best efforts to ensure that we do noble things in life. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba always believes in providing a permanent solution to the needy to make them self-supporting than simply donating large amounts,” he observed.

Prof. Veerabhadrayya lauded the untiring efforts of Sri Sathya Sai City Samithi “Prema Sadan” for its yeoman service to the poor and needy as per the guidelines of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Convener of Sri Sathya Sai City Samithi DSN Murthy explained in detail about the evolution of Samithi and various service activities being rendered by the Samithi to less privileged for the past 23 years. Vedic pundit Vadlamani Venkateswara Sarma from Sri Simhachalam Devasthanam was felicitated on the occasion.

Earlier in the morning more than 500 devotees participated in the ‘Sai vratam’ with devotion for universal peace and harmony.

In the evening, a dance drama ‘Archana’ by the Balvikas students enthralled the audience.

Former minister Bhattam Sriramamurthy, V. Papa Rao, Prabhath Kumar. B. Ramgopal, State coordinator of cultural wing of Sri Satya Sai Seva organisations MS Prakasa Rao, district incharge of Sevadal VR Nageswara Rao, A.Ravi Kumar, and others were present.
