Vizag Veterans wins title

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizag Veterans won the VDCA fourth division clubs league, beating Ispat CC by five runs in the knockout final at the ACA-VDCA stadium ‘B’ ground here on Monday.

Ispat medium pacer Bhaskar claimed five wickets but the team narrowly missed the target in its chase.

The scores: Vizag Veterans 249 in 48.1 overs (Kishore 70, Ramesh 38, Sagar 26, Bhaskar five for 90) bt Ispat C.C. 244 in 36.1 overs (Gangadhar 89, Mohan 79, Satish 26, Mohan four for 57, Srikanth three for 54). — Special Correspondent
