Capturing Delhi and its delights

Staff Reporter

A series of six workshops “Dilli 6” will train amateur photographers.

Workshops to cover Delhi’s streets, fashion, markets and monuments

NEW DELHI: Bringing alive Delhi’s streets, food, fashion, markets and monuments will be a series of photography workshops beginning this coming Saturday.

Titled “Dilli 6”, each workshop will be headed by a well-known photographer who will lead a small group of amateur photographers. The first workshop, titled “Where Dilli Begins”, is based on street photography in areas like Chandni Chowk, Red Fort and Jama Masjid. The other workshops will focus on Delhi’s gastronomic delights, fashion, bustling markets and medieval monuments.

Organised by Fuschia Tree, a state-of-the-art web gallery, the workshop has been conceptualised to cover six aspects that truly represent the very essence of Delhi.

TFT’s Chanda Chaudhary Barrai says: “From Delhi’s history, culture, food and fashion, all six journeys will be envisioned by a panel of leading photographers with a certain repertoire and style. These leaders will not only impart their passion and imagination to the concept but also lead a small focused group of amateur photographers to explore a facet of Delhi through two onsite sessions and two studio sessions. The group will learn and share various aspects of photography and improve their overall skill to capture the fleeting moments that touch our hearts through the artistry of lenses.”

Exhibition

These workshops will help amateur photographers showcase their art at a gallery exhibition. Each workshop will be conducted for a week with over four sessions with a participating fee of Rs.3,500 per workshop.

After a series of six such workshops and six smaller exhibitions, the Fuschia Tree will unveil the best works at an exhibition titled “Best of Dilli 6” in November this year.
