Children’s Parliaments

KRISHNAGIRI: Aid India, in association with UNICEF, organised 260 Children’s Parliaments in 220 panchayats in Krishnagiri district in the last six months. On Tuesday one such parliament was organised in a marriage hall here.
UNICEF State Communication Officer Thomas George and District Coordinator P. Ganesha Murthy gave special lectures.
Dr. Balaji Sampath, State secretary of Aid India gave the introductory speech. More than 50 panchayat presidents participated and exchanged their views about the programme and gave suggestions for its improvement as well.
Aid India has brought out a booklet on feedback collected from the children – Engal Aasai (our wish).
Participating in the debates, many children expressed their desires.
