BIE warns against summer classes

HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has warned colleges not to conduct regular classes during summer except EAMCET coaching for second year students and first year failed candidates appearing for the advanced supplementary examinations.

In a statement here, G. Balaramiah, Secretary, BIE, said that many private unaided colleges were conducting regular classes in violation of norms and such colleges would be disaffiliated.

Meanwhile, the AISF, Hyderabad held a demonstration and blocked the road at the BIE office protesting against the summer classes by corporate colleges for first year students.

“Conducting classes in apartments is a clear violation of norms and put great strain on students,” charged E. Uma Mahesh, city committee’s secretary. The organisation alleged that these colleges were operating without regulatory checks.
