12 killed in road accident

Family returning from a pilgrimage to Tulja Bhavani temple


SANGAREDDY: Twelve persons were killed in a road accident that occurred at Tulmadigi near Mannekalli in Bidar district of Karnataka late Monday night.

According to the sources, family members of Man Singh belonging to Nagisetti Tanda in Zaheerabad mandal went to Tulja Bhavani temple in Maharashtra.

While returning , a van coming from Hyderabad hit their vehicle head-on. Nine persons died on the spot.

Victims

Those who died were identified as Man Singh (70), Valuchand (45), Dawuji (50), Diwalibai (25), Sonibai (30), Bibibai (60), Aapkibai (30), Teribai (30), Eswar (2), Vakil (30), Tempo driver Ayub (40) and Sumo driver Soyab (30).

All the bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased after autopsy.

Leaders of the Congress and Telugu Desam consoled the families of the victims and demanded that the State government pay a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh to the kin of the each victim and also help the injured.
