Accompanied by the Veerapandi MLA and son of Mr. Arumugam, A. Raja, the Congress leader carried out door-to-door canvassing in the village.

He said that the five-year, Congress-led government had initiated many mega projects in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs. 56,000 crore of which Salem alone received Rs. 6,000 crore worth of projects.

The Salem MP also said that this was possible because of perfect understanding and coordination of both State and Central governments.
