Gonda: Gonda jail superintendent Santosh Kumar Srivastava, held hostage on Wednesday by inmates after the death of a fellow prisoner, was freed early on Thursday after announcement of a Magisterial inquiry and assurance of action against those found guilty. The entire drama, which started 6-30 p.m. on Wednesday, ended at around 2 a.m. when the District Magistrate Muktesh Mohan Mishra ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. Mr. Srivastava was taken hostage by the inmates after the death of an under trial Sadhu, who allegedly died due to want of medical care.
