Woman dies of burns

CHENNAI: A woman who resorted to self-immolation in her house in North Beach police station limits, in a bid to commit suicide, died hours after admission at the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital on Thursday.

Police said that S. Ammanu (24) took the extreme step following a family problem. Her husband S. Murugan (26) who tried to rescue her also suffered burns and is undergoing treatment. The police registered a case.
