The counting centres are all located in the district headquarters Kakinada: Arrangements are being made for counting of votes polled for three Parliamentary and 19 Assembly constituencies on May 16, all in the district headquarters instead of decentralised counting which was the practice earlier. Necessary measures are being taken to ensure safety of the electronic voting machines. Counting related to Kakinada Lok Sabha seat and seven Assembly segments under it will be done at V.S. Lakshmi College, Amalapuram LS and Assembly segments at Andhra Polytechnic College and Rajahmundry LS and Assembly segments at Government Polytechnic College and Rampachodavaram (ST) Assembly constituency at Rangaraya Medical College. Counting was planned at JNTU but its Vice-Chancellor got it exempted by appealing to the Election Commission not to cause disruption to the academic activity.
