High-Tech campaign: The BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate for New Delhi seat, Vijay Goel, along with fashion designer Ritu Beri launching his promotional campaign website on Friday.

NEW DELHI: Bringing the world of glamour to Delhi’s political stage, fashion designer Ritu Beri on Friday joined the BJP’s New Delhi candidate Vijay Goel in his “Online Promotional Campaign”.

The campaign got under way with the launch of the BJP leader’s website, www.vijaygoel.in, that will reach out to the educated and net-savvy voters in the New Delhi constituency.

Talking about her involvement in the online campaign, Ms. Beri said she was a family friend of Mr. Goel and had been involved with various social projects initiated by him, including adoption of one school under the MCD School Sudhar Yojana.

Ms. Beri said she had also been actively involved with his famous Toy Bank initiative for underprivileged children under which over one lakh toys have been collected and distributed so far.

Mr. Goel said that through his website he would be focussing on online promotions as the Internet offers the cheapest medium of communication to reach out to maximum number of people.

Meanwhile, Mr. Goel’s arch-rival, the Congress candidate Ajay Maken, spent a good part of the day in Moti Nagar where he elicited the support of a number of BJP workers and leaders for his party. The area is known as a stronghold of the BJP, particularly former Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana.

Among the local BJP leaders who Mr. Maken claimed had joined the Congress are Rawail Singh, Ravinder Singh Bittu, Kulbir Singh and Nand Kishore Babra.
