WARANGAL: The Endowments Department in association with other government agencies is making elaborate arrangements for the nine-day ‘Sri Bhadrakali Brahmotsavalu’ beginning April 26.

Temple’s chief priest B. Seshagiri Rao and executive officer K. Anjani Devi said the State government had decided to celebrate Brahmotsavalu on a large scale since the temple was recognised as one of the 108 Shakthipeetams in the country.

The temple in the recent period had acquired prominence with increasing number of devotees and it witnessed enormous development.

Sri Bhadrakali temple is one of the ancient temples dating back to pre-Kakatiya period.

As the authorities are expecting devotees in lakhs during the nine-day long affair, they were making arrangements for sanitation, drinking water supply, prasadam distribution, parking, spiritual discourses among other things.

Ms Anjani Devi said they were facing problem with the parking place and hence requested the LB College authorities to lend their space during the Brahmotsavalu.

The vehicular traffic would be diverted to the college grounds. The rituals – Ankurarpana (April 26), Bheri puka and Dwajarohanam (April 27), Sri Bhadrakali Bhadreswarulu Edurukolu Utsavam (April 28), Shankara Jayanti and Sri Bhadrakali Bhadreswarula Kalyanam (April 29), Rathotsavam (May 3) and Churnostavam and Pushpayagam (May 6) form part of the nine-day Sri Bhadrakali Brahmostavalu.

Cultural programmes and spiritual discourses by eminent Vedic pundits on the temple premises will be held as part of the celebrations.
