V-Cs meet today

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vice-Chancellors of universities in the State will meet at Andhra University here on Sunday. VCs of 27 out of the 32 universities have confirmed their participation.

Chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education K.C. Reddy would preside the conference to be held at the Platinum Jubilee Guest House from 9.30 a.m. Issues of State universities would be discussed during the meet.

AU is celebrating its 83rd Foundation Day on Sunday. The celebrations would commence with Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana garlanding the university emblem followed by the statues of Gandhiji and Sir C.R. Reddy in front of the Central Administrative Office building. Rector B. Parvatheeswara Rao garlands the statue of Sir C.R. Reddy in front of the Convocation Theatre. Registrar P.V.G.D. Reddy would garland the statues of former Registrar K.V. Gopalaswamy and M. Gopalakrishna Reddy.

Later Prof. Satyanarayana would inaugurate the new accommodation of the Media Cell, located in front of the CAO building.

The Foundation Day celebrations is marked by the inauguration of the Science and Technology Bhavan (building of the College of Science and Technology) by Prof. K.C. Reddy.

Statues of former Vice-Chancellors, reputed scientists and others would be garlanded simultaneously at 8.30 a.m. by Principals of campus colleges, HoDs, Deans and other officials.
