Durban: Elated after registering its first win in the ongoing IPL, Kings XI Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh has credited the positive result to proper execution of plan, especially by his bowlers. “We had a few plans. Our bowling didn’t go well in the last couple of matches but here we were spot on and executed the plans well,” Yuvraj said after the seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore yesterday. “We experimented with the bowling, shuffled it around and it worked in the end. We bowled and batted well and stuck to our plans. I’m happy with the result,” he was quoted as saying by the official IPL website. Yuvraj also singled out Ravi Bopara, the England player of Indian origin, for his outstanding performance which also earned him the Man-of-the-Match award. Bopara outstanding“The way Ravi batted was outstanding. We batted well, bowled well, picked up wickets at crucial stages,” he said. Yuvraj also disclosed that his team planned to play it safe against champion leg-spinner Anil Kumble. “We were clear in our minds that Kumble has bowled well in this tournament and we shouldn’t give him a wicket. We looked to have wickets in hand and go for the kill towards the end,” he said. — PTI
