Hurling footwear at political leaders has become a trend in the 2009 election campaign meetings. Such events had not been seen in the last 60 years but today India is a developed nation and many possess fashionable footwear. Some of them are hurled at political leaders. Indeed, shoe power, more than ballot power, seems to catch the fancy of voters. R. Janakiraman, Cheyyar S.A.S.
