Collector visits Aurangabad village
Staff Reporter
SANGAREDDY: Upset over a farmer burning his paddy field as it withered due to lack of water supply in Medak district, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy directed the district administration to submit a report immediately.
Along with power and agriculture officials, Collector Peeyush Kumar visited Aurangabad village, where the ryot, Nagaraj, set his paddy field on fire.
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Peeyush Kumar said out of the 140 acres under paddy cultivation in the village, 100 acres gave satisfying yield while 40 acres didn’t yield good produce, which includes the field of Nagaraj.
The administration wanted Mr. Nagaraj to take up dry crops under micro-irrigation in the 15 acres of land owned by him.
