Yefimova rewrites record

MOSCOW: Yulia Yefimova set a world record in the women’s 50m breaststroke by clocking 30.23 seconds at the Russian swimming championships.

Yefimova shaved 0.08 seconds off the mark set by Australia’s Jade Edmistone in Melbourne in January 2006. Yefimova was competing in a semifinal heat. — AP
